Parents/Carers

Parent and carer involvement makes a real difference to children and young people’s confidence, wellbeing and progress at school. At North West Sutherland Schools, we work hard to keep communication clear, regular and accessible so families feel informed and included. Our termly SWAYS share key updates, celebrations and what’s coming up across the campus, while our social media posts highlight learning, events and achievements in real time. We also value the role of our Parent Council in representing family voices and strengthening the partnership between home, school and community. Alongside this, our website includes resources and guidance to support learning at home and help you know what to do, who to contact, and how to get involved—because when we work together, our young people benefit most.

Parent Council

Our Parent Council meets termly and brings together parents and carers from across our 3–18 campus to help strengthen the partnership between home, school and community. It’s a welcoming space where you can make your voice heard, share ideas, ask questions and help shape priorities that matter to families and young people. Whether you’d like to be actively involved or simply stay informed, the Parent Council is a key way to contribute to school life, support campus events and improvements, and ensure parents’ and carers’ views are represented in our ongoing work. For more information on how you can be involved please contact the school office.
