ELC Settings
Welcome to our North West Sutherland Schools nurseries; Durness ELC, Kinlochbervie ELC and Scourie ELC. Each setting accommodates children between the ages of 2 to 5 with both Kinlochbervie and Scourie offering full time places for pupils.

Durness ELC: Little Learners, Big Horizons.
​Durness ELC is a welcoming, part-time setting situated within Durness Primary School, offering children the very best start in a modern, well-equipped indoor learning environment. With excellent access to outdoor space, children benefit from rich play-based learning that makes full use of the local surroundings, supporting curiosity, confidence and wellbeing.
Being located within the primary school also provides a strong sense of belonging and continuity, creating a smooth, familiar transition from ELC into P1 and helping children settle quickly, build relationships and thrive.
KINLOCHBERVIE ELC
Kinlochbervie ELC: Growing Great Learners, Outdoors and Beyond.
​Kinlochbervie ELC is a full-time setting situated in the heart of Kinlochbervie, based in a purpose-built building designed to support high-quality early learning and childcare. With a large outdoor space on-site, children enjoy daily opportunities for active, imaginative play and purposeful learning outdoors. The setting also makes the most of the local area, using the village and surrounding environment to enrich learning through exploration, movement and real-life experiences.
Located close to the primary school, the ELC maintains regular contact with staff and pupils to support strong relationships and a smooth, confident transition into P1.


SCOURIE ELC
Scourie ELC: Play Today, Thrive Tomorrow.
Scourie ELC is a full-time setting, recently renovated to create a modern, spacious learning environment where children can thrive through high-quality play-based experiences. With excellent outdoor space, children enjoy daily opportunities to explore, investigate and learn actively in the fresh air, with outdoor learning forming a key part of the ELC offer.
Situated within Scourie Primary School, the setting benefits from strong, close links with the primary stages, helping children build familiarity, relationships and confidence for a smooth and supportive transition into P1.
